Does London Business School offer undergraduate / bachelor / first degree programmes?
No. London Business School’s portfolio of courses does not include undergraduate education. The School is focused on postgraduate business education, offering a range of courses across MBA, Masters and PhD degrees, plus a selection of short courses designed for executives.
If you wish to study your first degree in London, you might wish to consider the undergraduate programmes that are on offer at our sister colleges and institutes within the University of London.

LBS Online courses
To optimise your learning experience, you are expected to complete all activities and assignments on the course.
No, you can complete the sessions whenever you choose to, as long as you meet the course deadlines. For our asynchronous courses webinars are pre-recorded and uploaded to the learning platform and will be available to you throughout the duration of the programme. Participation in the weekly live sessions with the learning manager are not mandatory but encouraged to enhance your learning experience.
For our synchronous courses which are delivered Live by faculty, attendance online is mandatory. To optimise the learning experience for you and your cohort, you’ll be expected to attend all sessions including group work and coaching sessions. You’ll also be expected to take part in peer-to-peer learning.
Our self-paced online courses typically require between 4 to 6 hours of commitment per week. This is broken down into:
Up to 60 minutes of pre-recorded faculty content
60 to 90 minute live online session each week with the learning manager
30 min – 1 hr of reading and key learning materials
between 2 and 2.5 hrs participant exercises, called Missions
Yes. Our self-paced asynchronous learning courses are created to suit your schedule over the course of 5-12 weeks. However, it is important to stay in sync with the rest of the cohort to enhance your learning experience and benefit from the Live weekly sessions with learning manager.
There are no formal exams for our LBS online courses.

It is possible to pay instalments, however this is subject to agreement with our LBS Online team. It is important to note, that the full fee for the course must be paid before the course start date.
All of our online courses are either led by London Business School faculty or feature contributions from faculty. The delivery team is typically made up of a one or more members of faculty, a Learning Manager and a Delivery Programme Manager.
Yes, you will get a digital certificate of achievement upon completion of the course.
You can apply to the course of your choice online. It important to provide detail and clarity regarding your role and learning objectives in relation to the course.
Acceptance is not automatic, and your application will be reviewed by our team of Programme Consultants or, depending on the course, the online education provider to ensure the best fit between applicants and courses.
Spaces on our programmes can fill up quickly so we encourage you to apply early and ensure your application is as comprehensive as possible.
For some partner programmes, the online education provider handles the registration process and will answer any questions you have about the programme, and whether it's right for you.
If your application is successful, you will receive an enrolment confirmation email with details of how to pay online. And an invoice will be sent 2 working days later to your invoice nominee with details of alternative methods of payments. This includes bank transfer or paying over the phone.
We do not charge VAT for our online courses.
Yes, these courses can be completed while you work. On courses with live faculty sessions, these sessions last between 60 and 120 minutes and will always be recorded if you are unable to attend.
Yes, please review our Terms and Conditions for more information. Ending your participation in the course (which includes any substitutions, transfers, or postponements) must be confirmed via email to the Online Admissions Office.
Cancellations received more than six weeks before the programme starts aren’t subject to any penalty.
Providing you inform us in writing no less than six weeks before the courses start date, you wont be charged a cancellation or transfer fee.

All of our courses are conducted in English and participants are expected to be able to understand, and contribute to, what can be very fast-paced class discussions.
You’ll receive communication from a member of the course delivery team on the course start date. The information we send will direct you to our online learning platform which will include the course timetable, pre-course reading and preparation work, and an introduction to your fellow participants.
Our Certificate offering means that you can plan your own personalised learning journey by selecting four courses of your choice, to be taken over 24 months.

Yes, you must attend the opening session. It is an essential introduction to your programme themes and a foundation for the rest of the week.

To avoid a cancellation or transfer fee, we must receive your cancellation, in writing, no less than six weeks before the programme starts.

The most convenient airport is London Heathrow.

Accommodation
Accommodation is organised for participants who are on our General Management residential programmes (see programme pages). If you are not on a General Management programme, local hotels near to the campus offer preferential rates and we can assist you with this should you need it.
Some students are expected to attend a four week maths refresher or pre-programme course in September (depending on the subject area). All students will be required to attend a 3-day orientation in the first month of the programme, giving you the chance to meet faculty, your first year supervisor and other PhD students. You'll also receive training and induction in London Business School's facilities and services.
All students offered a place on the PhD programme receive full funding, which includes a tax-free stipend (£23,500 per year) guaranteed for five years and a tuition fee waiver.
No, you do not need to contact faculty members before you make an application. Decisions on supervisors are only made after the first year in the programme, so you will have plenty of time to get to know faculty. We do encourage you to read the faculty profiles on our website to see if faculty at LBS have research interests relevant to what you wish to do.
Students complete the programme within five - six years.
The academic year starts in October. The year is divided into three terms (AUT, SPR and SUM), lasting 10 weeks each. Some new students may also need to attend a pre-sessional course in September.
All students must work as teaching or research assistants for 20 days (160 hours) a year in years 2, 3 and 4 of the programme. At least 10 days (80 hours) should be of teaching assistance (and the other 10 days could be research assistance, depending on each subject area’s preference). This is seen as a valuable part of your training.
The programme is run on a full-time basis only and students are expected to live in London.
There is a tuition fee waiver for all committed students.
Your application needs to reach us by 8th December. Make sure you have allowed enough time for your GMAT and/or other scores to be processed. We suggest you take any tests (and request for the results to be sent to us) before 27th October.
We do not offer transfers. You may be admitted to the programme from year one and apply for exemption from courses already taken. In such cases students will be required to pass a waiver examination. No more than three course waivers are permitted.
Yes, you must. We expect all applicants to submit a GRE or GMAT score before their application can be considered. Your score is valid for up to five years.
